The following are terms used in the SharePoint Marketing Suite user interface:

A scheduled report that is created and distributed once a day/week/month. The report includes several widgets, and can be viewed in the Report Center or by going directly to the report’s URL address.

Unlike scheduled reports, the real time preview is available by running ad-hoc queries directly on CardioLog database. This feature is available for analysts who wish to view reports for a specific time.

Templates can be defined for any object type in the monitored environment (e.g. Area, Site, List, etc.). Each template includes several widgets (similar to a report). A user can view real time data for a specific object in Object Explorer by selecting a report template from a pre-defined list of templates. SharePoint Marketing Suite is shipped with several templates for each object type.

This is a visual component that displays the results of a query. There are several types of components:
Meter - a gauge component which displays a single value.
Chart - a graph component which displays data over time (trend).
Table - a tabular component which displays a list of data.
Map – a map component which displays geo data.

Metric refers to the query results contained in the widget (such as number of page views for a site, top search terms, etc.)

Object Explorer contains a hierarchal list of the objects which are monitored by SharePoint Marketing Suite. The Professional edition includes all objects in the Microsoft SharePoint environment.

In the Enterprise edition, Object Explorer includes other portals and applications. Object Explorer represents the hierarchal structure upon which SharePoint Marketing Suite performs the various query aggregations (for instance, number of page views for a site and its sub sites).
